Peter Schmedding – A Mini Resume


After a traumatic childhood in Nazi Germany and migrating to Australia in 1954 I worked in the media (technical production, ABC Radio and TV) for 25 years. After this I retired and devoted the rest of my life to an interest that began in my own childhood: Mental health and the emergence and development of the Personality. My self-directed study program took me through a number of different methodologies in psychotherapy and I earned certificates and diplomas in the field. My counselling activities started in 1970.


I worked with mostly upper primary grades children and their parents for around three decades. Now with age creeping up I spend most of my time in writing from the experiences of a long and adventurous life. Furthermore I am still available to help certain young people, and their parents/carers, in cases such as problems in school or personality issus. One example is found on the web:
