Just pray

		Lying in anguish over the holiness of Jesus -
		A man, but also God -
		Versus the putrified state of my soul;
		Clouds to smother in despair
		In an overwhelming sense of hopelessness;
		Each remembrance
		Of the myriad sins locked inside
		Brings an anguish and misery unsurpassable -
		For I know there is a way of release
		But am unable to bring myself to communicate
		With the One I love and need so much -
		The One who can cleanse me.

		A petrifying,
		Demon-ridden guilt:
		He knows you -
		Just talk;

		A syrup of sins covering your heart:
		He understands -
		Just talk;

		A need
		That seems far too exultant
		For one as lowly as you to ask:
		He loves you -
		Just talk;

		A lack of energy -
		Curled up in the mists
		In a potentially faetal position:
		He can help you find the life you need -
		Just talk;

		Even if you feel you cannot yet ask forgiveness:
		Know that He is enough,
		That the price of Jesus' death
		Is enough for any sin -
		Again and again if needs be:
		He can forgive you -
		Just talk;

		Ask for removal of the mists
		And forgiveness for sins -
		He is capable -
		He is willing,
		He is waiting...
