Lost present

			One word -
Possibly said in all ignorance -
			Provoking:
			One twist,
			One thrust,
			One empathicless action -
			Unthinking.

			One release
			Of a pent up rage;
			One slip in control,
			One short burst of insanity:
			All it takes
For Death to rear his silent head.

			End of chances -
			Nothing more is possible -
People's lives could have been touched -
			But that crucial person
			Is gone.
			Now the only people
			Whose lives are changed
			Are those who weep -
Feeling the terrible loss to its full extent -
Something that you are still incapable of.

			They feel a pain
			Unfathomable by you -
Yours is of a guilt -
			Not a life ruined
			By the hole that perpetuates
			So obviously
			In everything.

			From this one action
The course of the world has been changed -
			By you -
			But do not feel power
For all you have created is pain -
Not beauty that is life -
Not the complexity that is a person.
