Weather the soul

			As the dull light
			Caresses the wet landscape,
My heart walks on an edge -
			The grey afternoon
Arouses in me a joy -
			Exultant in the dream-like,
			Half-shadow world -
			My heart rejoices
			In the life-giving waters
			Trickling from the heavens;
But the dimness begins to weigh upon me -
Ready to pull me off that edge
			Into the darkness below
Where self-pity, sorrow and apathy swirl.
When I fall into the mists
The light pattering ceases to be a blessing,
			And instead
I begin to find a joy in the darkness -
			Things that I do
Seem hidden by the dullness -
			Unseen -
I let the voices take over -
Temptations touch my flesh on every side -
			Caresses become grapplings at flesh
As parts of me are torn out -
			Pain and pleasure -
			I let it continue -
			It consumes.

I arise in the mists -
			Empty...
			Take me back, Friend -
Back to when I was alive
			(Though somehow thought otherwise)
And I shall live for you.
