Rose Tinted Relationship

			I cannot keep my eyes closed 
			To the reality of our relationship any longer -
			For so long have I seen you 
			As my heart has directed -
			And you have come across...
			Perfectly.
			But there have been differences,
			Misunderstandings, 
			Points of light
			That have awoken my mind to the deceit
			That my heart has been carrying out -
			But each time this happens, 
			My heart (the sponge that it is)
			Smothers these bright intrusions,
			And dampens them from memory.
			But there have been too many,
			Many too many,
			And my mind has finally pierced through the gloom
			Seeing this enchantment in full light -
			Searing heat stripping away the layers of deception.
			My heart is finally forced to accept the truth,
			But he will always resent that he had no choice in it - 
			He will always come back for more.
